Our journey

Six years of breakthroughs

2020

Founded on open-source principles

Airfree established with a commitment to open-source geospatial tooling and OGC-compliant architecture from day one.

2021

Government cadastral platform

Released the land administration platform for national mapping agencies — sovereign cadastral management engineered to handle national-scale parcel datasets.

2022

Spatial AI lab established

Dedicated research team formed to develop proprietary ML models for automated land classification and change detection.

2023

Digital twin platform launched

CesiumJS-powered 3D digital twin platform released, enabling city-scale models for urban planning and infrastructure.

2024

Earth observation pipeline reaches planetary scale

EO pipeline built to process full-archive Sentinel and Landsat datasets at global coverage.

2025

Spatial Foundation Model in development

Training the first large-scale AI model pre-trained exclusively on global geospatial and cadastral data.

In progress

Open Source

Contributing to the commons

We build on open foundations and give back. These projects are maintained by Airfree engineers and freely available under permissive licences.
