How long does a domain transfer take?
ICANN mandates up to 7 calendar days, but the majority of transfers to Airfree Clouds complete within 24 hours. Gaining registrar approval and providing the correct auth code are the main factors that speed things up.
Will my website or email go offline during the transfer?
No. We copy your existing DNS records before initiating the transfer and serve them throughout the process. There is no interruption to live traffic.
What is an EPP/auth code and how do I get one?
An EPP code (also called an authorization or auth code) is a password your current registrar issues to verify you own the domain. Log in to their control panel and look for a "Transfer out" or "Get auth code" option, or contact their support team.
Does my domain need to be at least 60 days old?
Yes — ICANN requires domains to be registered for at least 60 days before they can be transferred. Domains that were recently renewed are not affected by this rule.
What happens to my WHOIS privacy after the transfer?
If you had WHOIS privacy at your old registrar it will lapse during transfer. Airfree Clouds automatically enables our free WHOIS privacy service the moment your domain lands with us.
Can I transfer a domain that expires soon?
