Push notifications

How content-free push works and how to enable it on mobile.

Airfree Mail push notifications tell your device that new mail has arrived without sending the message content through the notification service. The app fetches and decrypts the message locally when you open the notification.

Enabling

Grant notification permission when the app first asks.
In the app, Settings → Notifications, choose which mailboxes notify you.
Standard IMAP clients poll instead of push; the official app uses true push.
