Accessibility Statement
Last updated: 1 January 2026 · Airfree Mail Pty Ltd
Our commitment
Airfree Mail Pty Ltd is committed to ensuring Airfree Mail is accessible to all users, including people with disabilities. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA for all our web interfaces.
Conformance status
Airfree Mail is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 Level AA. “Partially conformant” means that some parts of the content do not fully conform to the accessibility standard. We are actively working to address known gaps.
What we have done
- All images have descriptive alt text or are marked as decorative where appropriate.
- All form inputs have associated labels.
- We provide keyboard navigation throughout the webmail interface, including Gmail-compatible shortcuts.
- Colour contrast ratios meet or exceed WCAG 2.2 AA requirements in both light and dark themes.
- Focus indicators are visible on all interactive elements.
- The webmail interface is compatible with NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver screen readers.
- We support browser zoom up to 200% without loss of content or functionality.
- Time-sensitive content (such as video calls) provides alternatives for screen reader users.
Known limitations
We are aware of the following limitations and are working to resolve them:
- The rich text editor (Compose) has limited screen reader support for formatting toolbar options. A plain text compose mode is available as an alternative.
- Drag-and-drop file upload in Drive does not have a keyboard-accessible alternative on all browsers. Files can be uploaded via the “Choose files” button instead.
- Video Meet captions are available but require manual activation and are not yet available in all languages.

Technical information
Airfree Mail is built with React and Next.js. We rely on WAI-ARIA attributes for semantic structure and use native HTML form elements wherever possible. We conduct accessibility audits using axe DevTools and manual testing with NVDA on Windows and VoiceOver on macOS and iOS.
